January 10, 2010 (St. Luke 3:15-16, 21-22) Jesus’ baptism was a defining moment, not just for him but for all who share in his life through faith and baptism. United to Christ, we can hear the Father’s incredible words for ourselves: “You are my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Matthew 2:2-12. God had a plan for the salvation of the world, and God had a role for Joseph to play in His plan. In the face of worldly opposition, Joseph prevailed through trust and obedience. God has a plan for you, and will help you to overcome the world when you trust in Him.
Daniel 12:1-13; St. Mark 13:14-23. The Two Jerusalems, the worldly Jerusalem and the New Jerusalem, represent the two paths someone can take in life. In this first sermon in a two-part series, we go through the prophecies and the history of the fall of Jerusalem, and how that corresponds to one path we can choose in this life.
