LENTEN FRIDAY DINNERS AND DEVOTIONS. Beginning February 23, 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Our Lenten Fridays begin at 6:30 pm with a meal in Parish Hall prepared by one of our ministries: $5 per person or $15 for a family. (There are always food options for kids.)

At 7:30 pm, children age 6 through 5th grade go to the Undercroft for their own devotional while adults and youth go to the church for the Stations of the Cross and hear from one of our excellent a guest speakers

  • February 23: Bishop Anthony Burton, Rector Emeritus of Incarnation, Dallas

  • March 1: Fr. Paul Klitzke, Rector of Ascension, Dallas

  • March 8: Mtr. Samira Izadi Page, Executive Director of Gateway of Grace

  • March 15: Fr. Kenneth Brannon, Vice Rector of St. Michael and All Angels, Dallas

  • March 22: Mtr. Rebecca Tankersley, Senior Associate Rector of Transfiguration, Dallas

HOLY WEEK. Beginning Sunday, March 24

  • Palm Sunday, March 24. Regular service times.

  • Maundy Thursday, March 28. 7:00 pm, the Maundy Thursday Liturgy with the washing of the feet, stripping of the altar, and followed by the Watch

  • Good Friday, March 29. 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm, the Good Friday Liturgy

  • Easter Eve, March 30. 8:00 pm, the Great Vigil of Easter followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.

EASTER SUNDAY. March 31

  • 8:00 am Rite 1 Said Eucharist

  • 9:15 am Rite 2 Eucharist

  • 10:00 am Easter Egg Hunt on the playground and Easter Reception in the Parish Hall

  • 11:00 am Sung Eucharist

When’s Church?

Church is happening all the time around St. John’s: community groups, fellowship events, Christian Formation classes, and worship—all of which strengthen us in our knowledge of and love for Christ.

We have daily Morning Prayer at 9:00a, Monday through Friday, on our Facebook page. Our weekend schedule follows.

SATURDAY NIGHT

  • 5:30 pm. Rite 2 Eucharist

SUNDAY MORNING

  • 8:00 am: Rite 1 Eucharist, a simple liturgy with hymns

  • 9:00 am. Bible Studies

  • 9:15 am. Rite 2 Eucharist, a family-friendly service with hymns.

  • 10:00 am. Sunday School for all ages

  • 11:00 am. Rite 1 Sung Eucharist, a traditional sung liturgy with hymns and choir. On Sundays in the seasons of Easter and Christmas, we have incense. This service is also streamed live each Sunday on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
